Understanding your Pay Stub
I am earning $7.00 an hour, what are all these deductions about? This is a question you will ask yourself many times. Basically all employers are required to deduct a portion of your pay and remit to the Federal Government the deducations for Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan and Income Tax. There may be other deductions if you belong to a union, have a company medical or dental benefit program or if you have requested automatic deductions. You can always talk to the Human Resource Professional or payroll person at your place of work for a full explanation of payroll deductions.
